Safe Use

An umbrella has moving parts, tensioned struts, and – depending on the model – an automatic opening or closing mechanism. Therefore, use the umbrella carefully and exclusively for its intended purpose.

Keep Distance

Only open and close the umbrella when there is sufficient space. Never point the tip of the umbrella at other people.

Protect Fingers

Keep fingers, hair, and clothing away from the runner, joints, and spokes. The mechanism can move quickly when opening and closing.

Check Before Use

Before use, check the canopy, spokes, shaft, and mechanism for visible damage. Do not continue to use a damaged umbrella.

Assess Wind Correctly

In strong winds, the umbrella can become difficult to control. In storms, thunderstorms, or extreme gusts, it should remain closed.

Intended Use

The umbrella is intended exclusively for protection from precipitation.

Do not use it as a walking or support aid, toy, sports equipment, or for carrying, pushing, or moving objects. Do not lean on the umbrella or load the shaft, handle, or canopy with additional body weight.

Any other or additional use may lead to injury or damage.

Before each use

Before opening, check the umbrella for visible damage. Pay particular attention to:

bent, broken, or loose ribs;

damaged or protruding metal parts;

tears or loose seams in the canopy;

a loose handle or damaged umbrella tip;

a stiff, blocked, or unusually reacting mechanism.

Do not continue to use the umbrella if safe operation is not guaranteed.

Safe Opening

Before opening, ensure that no people, animals, or objects are in the umbrella's range of motion.

Hold the umbrella away from your body and do not point the umbrella tip at faces or other people. Never open it in confined spaces, vehicles, or directly next to other people.

For models with automatic opening, the canopy can unfold quickly and with force. Only press the button when you have a secure grip on the handle and there is sufficient space.

During Use

Always hold the umbrella by the designated handle. Do not reach into the ribs, joints, or slider during use.

Be aware of your surroundings. The umbrella tips can injure other people or damage objects, especially in crowds, at entrances, and on narrow sidewalks.

Keep a sufficient distance from open flames, strong heat sources, and electrical wires.

Use in Wind

An umbrella can be suddenly moved, inverted, or pulled from your hand by strong or changing winds.

Keep the outside of the umbrella canopy facing the wind as much as possible. Do not try to force the umbrella open against strong gusts.

Should the canopy invert, find a wind-protected location if possible and close the umbrella using the designated mechanism. Do not forcefully push or bend the canopy and ribs back by hand.

Then check the umbrella for damage. Do not continue to use it if the ribs are bent or broken, parts are protruding, or the mechanism no longer functions reliably.

The umbrella must not be used during storms, thunderstorms, or extreme wind conditions. Seek a protected location instead.

Opening

1. Remove the umbrella completely from its sleeve and release the retaining strap.
   
2. Shake it gently to allow the fabric and ribs to unfold freely.
   
3. Hold the handle securely and point the umbrella away from people.
   
4. Only press the button when there is sufficient space.
   

Closing

1. Point the umbrella away from people and objects.
   
2. Press the button. The canopy will close automatically and may move quickly in the process.
   
3. Hold the handle securely and push the telescopic shaft together in a controlled manner until it clicks completely and audibly into place.
   
4. Keep fingers, hair, and clothing away from the shaft, joints, and ribs during this process.
   

Do not release the telescopic shaft while pushing it together. Do not attempt to forcefully close or reopen a blocked shaft.

These instructions apply to Distinct, Classic, and Modern models.

Opening

1. Remove the protective sleeve and completely release the retaining strap.
   
2. Hold the umbrella securely by the handle.
   
3. Point the umbrella tip away from people and objects.
   
4. Only press the opening button when there is sufficient space.
   

Closing

1. Keep fingers, hair, and clothing away from the runner, joints, and ribs.
   
2. Guide the runner smoothly and in a controlled manner towards the handle until the mechanism fully engages.
   
3. Do not use force if the umbrella does not close properly.
   

The retaining strap may only be closed when the canopy is completely folded.

Children and Vulnerable Persons

An umbrella is not a toy.

Children must not play with the umbrella, its automatic mechanism, or the packaging. Models with automatic opening or closing should only be used by children under the immediate supervision of an adult.

Store the closed umbrella in such a way that children do not have unsupervised access to the mechanism or the umbrella tip.

Damage and Repairs

Do not continue to use the umbrella if:

• Ribs are broken, bent, or loose;
  
• Sharp or pointed parts are protruding;
  
• The shaft is damaged or unstable;
  
• The handle or the umbrella tip is loose;
  
• The mechanism opens or closes unintentionally;
  
• The mechanism is blocked or can only be operated with unusually high force.
  

Do not make any independent changes or repairs to the ribs, shaft, springs, or mechanism. Opening or disassembling can release components under tension and cause injuries.

Storage

After use, leave the umbrella fully open to dry at room temperature. Only store it in its protective cover when completely dry.

Store it in a dry place and protect it from:

• Open fire;
  
• Radiators and other strong heat sources;
  
• Continuously high temperatures;
  
• Prolonged direct sunlight;
  
• Moisture and wetness during storage.
  

Store the umbrella so that it cannot fall over and its tip does not pose a risk of injury.

Packaging

Packaging materials are not toys. Keep bags, films, and other packaging components away from children. There is a risk of suffocation.

Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed according to local regulations.

Disposal

Do not disassemble a damaged umbrella yourself. Broken ribs and other metal parts can have sharp edges or be under tension.

Dispose of the umbrella according to locally applicable regulations. Information on proper disposal can be obtained from your municipal collection or disposal point.
