Umbrellas, carefully designed.
Sapor develops pocket and full-length umbrellas with a special focus on form, construction, material, and use.
We view each model as a whole – from the handle and mechanics to the canopy and its cover. How an umbrella opens, how it feels in your hand, and how its components interact are as much a part of its design for us as its external form.
Each model follows its own idea. Together, they form a collection of carefully coordinated rain umbrellas.
Embrace the rain.

It began with the Iconic
For over three years, we meticulously tested, modified, and harmonized the handle, mechanism, frame, canopy, and cover.
The result is a folding umbrella with a large, columnar handle and an extraordinary frame made of ten fibreglass ribs. These ribs divide the canopy into ten narrow segments, giving the Iconic both its stability and its distinctive silhouette.
Consistent color design was also an integral part of the concept from the outset. The handle, cotton strap, and canopy are made of different materials, but with the Iconic, they are entirely in the same color. Their precise coordination is elaborate in production. For us, it is an example of how much the impact of a product depends on seemingly small decisions.

The umbrella canopy as a design surface
Over time, the umbrella canopy has become an increasingly important part of our work. It not only provides protection from rain but also offers a large textile surface for color and design.
For our design variations, we develop our own motifs that extend across the individual segments of the canopy. We consider how a design appears on the open umbrella, how the fabric panels meet, and what remains visible when closed.
With the Distinct, we utilize this surface in a special way. For selected variations, two separate fabric layers are sewn together. The outer and inner sides can thus be designed independently, giving the open umbrella an additional depth. Other variations consciously work with a single fabric layer and display the same design on both sides.

Each model with its own task
The Essential follows the familiar shape of a full-length umbrella and executes it with particular care. With its columnar handle and ten ribs, the Iconic has an independent structural and design-oriented construction.
The Classic and Modern share the construction of a large full-length umbrella. The difference lies in the handle: a curved round handle for the Classic, a straight wooden handle for the Modern.
The Distinct is the most unique line of our full-length umbrellas. A handle made of ironwood, limited designs, and different fabric constructions give each variant its special character.
Therefore, the models differ not only in color or name. Each of them originated from its own idea of how a particular umbrella should look, function, and feel in use.
